1. 第一段

The article “Flighting for breath” is about air pollution, a great global problem nowadays. It based on the tragedy in London in 1952 where nearly 3000 people were killed. Because of every noxious fog they were unable to breath.

避免在句子开头使用because,and,but,so等

“the tragedy in which”这里in/at/on which不能换成where,特例:除了地点外

2. 第二段

“Fighting for breath” says that the different chest problems like asthma are not the reason of traffic fumes and pollutants from cooking and fires. But that facts can worsen these illnesses rapidly. An example is New Zealand where is the cleanest air but nevertheless a high rate of asthma patients. So there must be another cause which lead to chest problems. Dr. Mark Porter,1 a radio speaker and a journalist, is sure that our airtight homes with lots of toxic metals and pesticides are the reason therefore.

避免在单个句子开头使用because,and,but,so等;

避免句子尾部使用therefore, yet等!

两个句子中间作连词时,because,and,but,so要使用逗号!

表示原因时,弄清reason和cause的中性和贬义的区别,然后恰当地分别使用!

*名词要么作整体,抽象(e.g., people, sun),否则,就具体,形象 参考博文*(e.g., traffic fumes and pollutants from cooking and fires),因为旗帜鲜明,没有了中立地带,也就没有了混淆和曲解空间!
