Intro

Today, I saw the wide spread PPT. saying from facebook(still douteful). It lists 25 items to work efficiently. As follows:

There is always time, time is priority.

only plan for 4-5 hours of real work per day.

it’s normal to have days where you just can’t work and days where you will work 12 hours straight.

your time is $1000/hour, and you need act accirdingly.

stop multi-tasking.

set up a work routine and stick to it, your body will adapt.

we’re always more focused and productive with limited time.

work is the best way to get working. start with short tasks to get the ball rolling.

doing is better than perfect.

more work hours does not mean more productivity.Use constraints as opportunities.

separate thinging and execution to execute faster and think better.

organize meetings early during the day.

a single meeting can blow a whole afternoon, by breaking it into two pieces each too small to do anything hard in.

keep the same context throughout the day. Switch between projects/clients is unproductive.

work around procrastination. procrastinate between intense sprints of work.

break the unreasonable down into little reasonable chunks. A big goal is only achieved when every little thins that you do everyday, gets you closer to that goal.

always prioritize. Be really careful with to-do lists.

break tasks into hour increments. long tasks are hard to get into; feels like it all needs to get done.

set deadlines for everything. don’t let tasks go on indefinitely.

set end dates for intense or stressful activities. Everything ends at some point.

Get a reminder app for everything. Do not trust your brain for your memory.

Write down everything that distracts you - google searches, random thoughts, new ideas, whatever. The point is, if you write them down, they’ll stop bubbling up when you’re in the zone.

Take breaks. Sometimes.

sorry for missing the authors that saying these words. To me, there are such important points that i can do better. And actually many listed above are relative.

1. when facing a huge task. I was easily interrupted by random thoughts and new ideas, with the feeling that the work I am doing now is not perfect. then branch my thought into the new idea. This really bored me in the early time. One solution of this problem is just as listed above: write them down and do the project first, just do it.

2. realize the fact that productivity is related with one’s body state, keep productivity when feeling good, otherwise take a break may be better.

3. do not over confident in your memory, do not over confident in your memory, do not over confident in your memory. Important things deserves repetition.

4. recently I always felt bored with work, feeling tired. Memory ability is weakened, eyes are uncomfortable, My body is telling “you need break, and this break is not sleeping. Go outside and refresh the smells in spring”.

5. do not always keep so many things in mind, take them down, break them into small pieces, and do one after another. Write down the to-do list now.

everyone in this world is not alone. We breath the air together, some people work together, some become good friends, and we can always learn together. Everyone can share his/her opinion. Maybe I am not familiar with person saying words above, but I really feel thankful and happy. The world will be better with more sharing.
