ubuntu 14.04 use Kinect v1

1. Install OpenNI

sudo apt-get install git-core cmake freeglut3-dev pkg-config build-essential libxmu-dev libxi-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev doxygen graphviz mono-complete


$ mkdir ~/kinect
$ cd ~/kinect
$ git clone https://github.com/OpenNI/OpenNI.git[/code] 
cd OpenNI/Platform/Linux/CreateRedist/
chmod +x RedistMaker
./RedistMaker


Case 1:(my case)

$ cd Final
$ tar -xjf OpenNI-Bin-Dev-Linux*bz2
$ cd OpenNI- ...
$ sudo ./install.sh


Case 2:

cd ../Redist/OpenNI-Bin-Dev-Linux-x64-v1.5.2.23/
sudo ./install.sh


2. Install SensorKinect

$ cd ~/kinect/


Version 1 : (this one did not work for Samir)

$ git clone git://github.com/avin2/SensorKinect.git


Version 2 : (this one worked for Samir) (my case)

$ git clone git://github.com/ph4m/SensorKinect.git


$ cd SensorKinect/Platform/Linux/CreateRedist/
$ chmod +x RedistMaker
$ ./RedistMaker

$ cd Final
$ tar -xjf Sensor ...
$ cd Sensor ...
$ sudo ./install.sh


%test

~/kinect/OpenNI/Platform/Linux/Bin/x64-Release

./~~~

if Failed to set USB interface!

$ sudo
rmmod gspca_kinect

3. Install NITE

$mkdir ~/kinect/nite-arm


$cd nite-arm/


$cd nite-arm/

$tar –xvf  ../nite-bin-linux-arm-v1


cd ~/kinect/nite-arm/Data/

Open:

Sample-User.xml,

Sample-Scene.xml and

Sample-Tracking.xml

replace the existing License line with the line below (note: this is case sensitive!):

<vendor="PrimeSense" key="0KOIk2JeIBYClPWVnMoRKn5cdY4=">

Install license:

sudo niLicense PrimeSense 0KOIk2JeIBYClPWVnMoRKn5cdY4=

Check the license:

niLicense -l

sudo ..

sudo ./install.sh

Put the user in the correct group:

sudo adduser YOURNAME video

done!
