First,whatwe'reseeingnowisnotan"outbreak"oran"epidemic"ofEbolainAmerica.We'reanationofmorethan300millionpeople.Todate,we'veseenthreecasesofEboladiagnosedhere-themanwhocontractedthediseaseinLiberia,camehereandsadlydied;thetwocourageousnurseswhowereinfectedwhiletheyweretreatinghim.Ourthoughtsandourprayersarewiththem,andwe'redoingeverythingwecantogivethemthebestcarepossible.
Now,evenoneinfectionistoomany.Atthesametime,wehavetokeepthisinperspective.Asourpublichealthexpertspointout,everyyearthousandsofAmericansdiefromtheflu.
