According to the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM; www.aiim.org;), a nonprofit organization that provides education, research, and
best practices, Enterprise Content Management (ECM) comprises the “strategies, methods, and tools used to capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content and documents related to
organizational processes.” The technologies included in ECM include document management, records management, imaging, workflow management, web content management, and collaboration.
