 A mother
died after she struggled to push a baby stroller over a gated
railroad crossing and was struck by a passing train. The woman's
2-year-old daughter was left safe and sound.

一位母亲奋力将婴儿车推出铁路道口栅门后，被路过的火车撞击身亡，她两岁大的女儿安然无恙。



The accident happened in the town of Riverside in southern
California. The mother, 33-year-old Susan Dibene, crossed the train
tracks on Mary Street around 7 p.m. with a baby stroller. As they
approached the train tracks, the railroad safety arms began to
lower, and signal lights were going on, suggesting a train was
coming.

事故发生在加州南部的河边市。这位母亲现年33岁，名叫苏珊-狄本。晚上7点左右，她推着一辆婴儿车经过玛丽路的列车轨道。当她们快到轨道时，铁路旁的安全栏杆开始下落，信号灯也亮起，提示有火车即将通过。

 

Dibene tried to cross ahead of the oncoming train. However, the
wheel of the stroller got stuck in the train tracks. She managed to
free the stroller and continued crossing, but it got stuck again.
At that time, the running train with a high speed was just in front
of them!

狄本试图在列车到来之前通过铁轨，但是婴儿车的车轮被铁轨卡住了。她设法弄出车轮后继续前行，却再一次被卡往。就在那时，高速行驶的火车已经来到她们的面前！

moment Dibene pushed the stroller out of the train’s path. Her
daughter was alive, but she didn’t have enough time to save herself
and died at the scene.

在最后时刻，狄本把婴儿车推出了轨道，她女儿获救了，但她没有时间保住自己的性命，当场被撞身亡。

The train's conductor and engineer saw Dibene struggling with the
stroller. They blew the horn and tried to brake but were unable to
stop in time.

火车的列车长和工程师看见了狄本在努力推婴儿车，于是拉响了警报并试图刹车，但最终未能及时停下来。

The little girl’s father Paul Dibene said, “You have so many mixed
emotions. Here you lose the mother of your child, yet she gave her
life. I feel like she paid the ultimate sacrifice. She gave her
life to save her daughter. The panic and the fear could have caused
you to just freeze.”

小女孩的爸爸保罗-狄本说：“这种心情很复杂，我失去了孩子的妈妈，然而是她用自己的生命挽救了孩子。我想她在孤注一掷，用自己的生命来救女儿，那种惊慌和恐惧本会让人呆若木鸡的。”

Dibene's mother said her daughter was a wonderful mother for she
saved her daughter's life.

狄本的母亲说她的女儿是个伟大的母亲，因为她挽救了自己的孩子。

感悟：伟大的母爱固然感人至深，但伟大的妈妈更应该有安全意识！母爱诚可贵，安全价更高！
