If you are an iPhone or iPad user, probably you know the airplay, apple 's screen streaming and mirroring standard, which allows you to run iOS applications on multiple screens, not just on the small plam of your hand, also
can be displayed on big TV screen.
It's very exciting to to stream content from your smart phone or tablet to HDTV wirelessly.well, airplay has done, so does miracast.
So what is miracast? last October, the Android 4.2 jelly bean come to us with many new features including a multi -screen interactive technology called miracast, which make it much easier to share your Android device screen, share your amazing games and
photos on a big TV screen with family and friends, as well as convey music to your home speakers from a little device instantly. Miracast works over Wi-Fi Direct connection, which is basically just an ad hoc Wi-Fi standard. It lets two devices that have Wi-Fi
in them talk to each other without having to go through your internet network. And unlike AirPlay, it will work with disparate brands and platforms.
As a matter of fact, Samsung and HTC also have their own media streaming solutions just like apple.Samsung call it allshare cast and confine this technology to its own products, that is to say, only when you buy a galaxy
S phone or galaxy note tablet and Samsung smart TV can you enjoy this technology.
At the same time, HTC brings its solution HTC media link HD.similarly, you can play content from your HTC one on HDTV via media link HD dongle.
No matter apple, Samsung or HTC, they have the common ground, their solutions are all limited to their own brand of hardware, even though all those are based on wifi direct communication, so if you want to enjoy it, you must
buy their products, you know, they are not cheap.
Luckily, the Wi-Fi alliance has developed the open standard and Android 4.2 brings it to us, miracast can be supported by any hardware and software platform, including apple, Samsung and HTC.
Of course, it's a good massage for other manufacturers, the major companies are paying a highly interest on it right off the bat.So far, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, MTK and other major chip manufacturers have released their new SOC solutions integrated miracast.
