Adding an ESXi Host to a Directory Service

2012-10-23 09:50 309 查看
To add an ESXi host to a directory service, there are several prerequisites, including the following:

1. The Active Directory domain controllers and domain name must be resolvable in the ESXi host DNS server entries.

2. Verify that the ESXi hostname is fully qualified with the domain name of the Active Directory forest, for example, esxi1.test.local.

3. The time between the ESXi host and the directory service should be synchronized. This is most easily accomplished in ESXi by using NTP.

4. There must be a group in Active Directory with the name ESX Admins. Place Active Directory user accounts that should have access to the ESXi host(s) in this group. The ESX Admins group is granted the Administrator role on the ESXi host(s).
