How to access google map if the connection is blocked

In our production, we use google map api. But one day I found I cannot load google map. My collegue helped resolving it.
Add below items in hosts file:
#---google map----
74.125.236.63 ssl.gstatic.com
74.125.236.63 maps.gstatic.com
Add below items in hosts file:
