SHOWING RELATED ENTITIES ON A FORM IN CRM 2011

Frequently, businesses want to see 1-N and N-N entities displayed on related forms. In CRM 4, this required custom coding with an i-frame, but CRM 2011 provides this functionality thru out of the box configuration.

The steps below will walk you through adding a 1-N or N-N entity using the Sub-Grid customization.

Open the main form for the target Entity
Click the "Insert" menu item
Click the "Sub-Grid" button



Enter a unique Name for the Sub-Grid
Select the related Entity to show in the Sub-Grid
Click "OK"



Save the form
Publish the form

With this customization, you can also add new items to the sub entity directly when the Sub-Grid is selected.
