Go to the Finder and select the file type whose association you want to change.

Press the "Command" key and the "I" key to open the "Get Info" window.

Click the "Open with" expansion triangle.

Click the drop-down menu and select the application you want to use to open all files of this type.

Press the "Change All" button to reset the file association for this file type. Press the red circle in the top-left corner of the "Get Info" window to close the window.
