正式上班一个星期了

Time flies. I have been here for two weeks. Last week should be the time when I was working here officially, since the contract is started from Sep. 10. I need to note some feelings at the week.

1) BUSY. From when I worked here, there are three times of working over time (OT). One extreme OT is until 1:30 AM. Hard to believe that I have to work here in such a crazy way. Frankly, I hate OT. In my mind, OT means a kind of low efficiency. Low efficiency is equivalent to a suicide. So I am pushing myself to work efficiently and try my utmost to finish day's work before being off duty. But when I worked here, I have to adapt myself into the working rhythm.

2) A lot of ROUTINES things. To work here, I need to do a lot of routine things. Prepare forms, fill forms, submit forms ... forms ... .

3) MEETING. I need to take much time into meeting. I need to listen interested talks and have to listen boring talks.

4) Students here are not so academic as I thought. Some of them are quite smart and they did very good job. But some of them are staying so far from an creative thought. They are trying to copy what others did and paid less attention on creative thinking. I don't think that is sufficient for a PhD student.

I will let me know these and mind these and make use of these. Keep going and thinking. :D
