Invite people to join your network

When someone accepts an invitation to join your network (A group of people someone communicates and shares with on
Windows Live. Someone's network includes people they've added to their profile,
to their Messenger contacts, or both. People in someone's network can see
information about their latest activities in the what's new list, and may see
other information, depending on permissions settings.) (or you accept
theirs), you'll be able to see updates about each other in your what's new in your network (An area on your home page that shows information about the
activities of people in your network on Windows Live.) lists. You can
choose how much you want to share, but the idea is that you'll be able to see
things like recently added photos and new personal messages. When people in your
network update their phone numbers or other information, your contact list will
get updated with the new information, too.

You can expand your network in several ways. For example, you can invite
people who are in your contact list (Your contact list is where you keep information about
people who are in your network on Windows Live or on your Windows Live Messenger
list, such as their name, e-mail address, and phone number. When people share
their details with you, you automatically get updated contact information from
them.) or people who you know through other online communities and
networking services.

Notes

You can search for other people on Windows Live who share your interests,
and then invite them to join your network. For more information, see Search
for someone's profile on Windows Live.

Windows Live suggests people you might like to add to your network, based on
your profile contacts' networks. To see these suggestions, click
Network, and then click See suggestions.

When you send someone an invitation to join your profile, they receive an
e-mail notification. If they have a profile on Windows Live, they also see a
notification message when they sign in. If they don't already have a profile on
Windows Live, they receive an e-mail telling them how to get one and how to join
your network. When they accept, you'll see them on your profile page.

You can limit who can view the information in your profile and see your
activities. For more information, see Change
who can view information in your profile on Windows Live.
